    A Nigerian man has sparked a debate online after revealing that his wife pleaded with him to allow her to sleep with a chief in exchange for money to support their struggling family.

    The information, which he shared anonymously on X (formerly Twitter), included full details of the situation, has garnered the attention of many internet users.

    He revealed that things had gotten really bad for him, his business was no longer profitable, he had sold off some of his properties, and he currently owes a total of ₦18 million.

    As their situation continued to worsen his wife suggested that she give in to a chief who has been making passes at her in exchange for money to support the family.

    He further stated that he couldn’t bring himself to give her consent to go through with it, as it didn’t sit right with him, and he’s now considering divorce.

    His post read;

    “I am just confused. Thing got bad for me. My wife is begging me to permit her knack one Chief wey de disturb her. So we can feed our son. But it doesn’t sit right with. I can imagine giving such consent and still happily stay in the marriage. But I kinda feel we are past happiness now.

    I am considering divorcing her. So I can move on, and she can do whatever she can to help her life and the boy, as things keep getting worse as days go by, selling my property and yet business is not turning profit. Only to feed for some days and we are back broke and my current debt is over 18m.”
