A man based abroad has called off his wedding after he found out that the money he sent to his fiancée to help him buy land was used to purchase wigs worth millions.

According to the story, the man had sent ₦23 million to his fiancée to help him purchase land in Enugu.

When he returned to Nigeria for their wedding he asked her to take him to the property – which she did.

Later, he discovered a land in that area doesn’t cost anything beyond 5million.

The man’s family involved the police and an investigation was carried out.

Apparently she had bought the land for 4.5 million, and gave 3 million to the sellers and agents so they would comply with her false story.

The wedding was called off after she confessed that a large part of the money was spent on expensive wigs and other personal expenses.

The story which was shared by @Benking443 on X, has stirred reactions from people – with others blaming the man:

@saviourDey4U So he doesn’t have family. It’s a lady he’s not married to that he will trust with his money.

@Oghenemarhoj He did this to himself. He should have boys that are his friends or even his family members that he could have sent this and just not notify the fiancée.

@EMeka24717 Wetin do my brothers or mum..dat I will b outside Nigeria and b sending money to a girl dat m not married to…say I de love deficient ahbi wetin.

@ABaba30036 The man is a fool to begin with. No matter how close I am with a woman , I will never send her money to do things for me when I know I have relatives or even friends who go run am for me with promise that I go give them something after the whole thing.
