    In a now-viral post on X (Twitter), a man shared a jaw-dropping exchange that led him to cut off ties with a woman he was seeing.

    The drama unfolded when he told her he was torn between sending his mum money or buying her a gift for her birthday on May 17.

    The lady whose birthday happened to fall in the same month as his mum had suggested that he gift her first, then his mum later.

    Her response had left the young man stunned, and in retaliation, he blocked her immediately.

    Social media users were quick to weigh in, with many applauding him for setting boundaries and prioritizing his mother.

    While others were shocked at the woman’s audacity, especially considering her own birthday was just a few days later, on May 21.

    Below are some of the comments;

    “Tell me it never happened…because that girl is selfish. Block and report, please.”

    “Men don’t often mistakenly marry wrong. They intentionally marry wrong, ignoring red flags.”

    “Lmao. I am NOT surprised at all. The average woman is this level of selfish, just that some will not utter this nonsense in such a situation. This one is not only selfish, but very foolish to tell you this nonsense. Good riddance.“

    “The issue is not even about the mum; it’s the level of entitlement and self-centeredness in the speech. Such people, it’s always about them.“
