The newly appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), Malik Basintale, showed up to work on March 7, 2025, rocking a pair of long-sleeve shirts, high-waisted trousers held up by suspenders, and a flat cap to match.

Demonstrating that he intends to bring something new to the system under his leadership, Malik Basintale encouraged his staff to also embrace interesting old-school fashion.

This was the first time such a style had been seen at the YEA office during the celebration of Ghana Month.

Pictures and videos circulating on social media captured Basintale engaging with his staff at work while also posing for photos.

The men rocked old-school looks similar to their boss’, while others wore disco-style shirts and flared trousers.

The women rocked oversized shirts, long-sleeve shirts, and stockings.

Others also opted for ‘kaba and slit’ with scarves.

A common piece spotted in everyone’s style was the artificial afro wigs.

In all, the entire YEA team successfully pulled off the old-school look, bringing a fresh and youthful energy to the organisation.
