Ghanaian rapper Medikal has thrown his full support behind President John Dramani Mahama in a now-viral social media post that has added fresh energy to conversations about leadership and continuity in Ghana.

In the post, the “Stubborn Academy” hitmaker urged Ghanaians to value the return of Mahama, describing him as a “very serious guy” who should be maintained in power beyond his current mandate.

“Make una pray make Mahama no leave power oo, very serious guy!” Medikal wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

President Mahama, who returned to power after a historic landslide victory in the 2024 elections, has been receiving glowing praise across the country.

Medikal’s endorsement only adds to the buzz around his leadership style, policies, and perceived national impact.

The rapper went further to suggest two successors he believes would continue the legacy of development and patriotism after Mahama’s term ends.

“Even if he does finish his term, he should pass it over to Ibrahim Mahama, his brother or Alan Cash. These men have serious ambitions to make Ghana a great nation, trust me,” he added.

While political endorsements from celebrities are not new, Medikal’s public alignment with Mahama—especially naming both Ibrahim Mahama and Alan Kyerematen (widely known as Alan Cash) as potential successors—has sparked widespread reaction online.
