Ghanaian musician and music executive, Ricky Nana Agyemang, popularly known as Bullet, has opened up about the challenges that come with sustaining a music group.

He said fame and external influences often create cracks within members.

Speaking in a recent interview with Nana Romeo on UTV, Bullet explained that while group members may understand each other during the struggle phase, things often change when success arrives.

“Keeping a musical group is really hard. As you hustle, you understand each other, but when you get the fame, people start talking into your ears,” he said.

He recounted a personal experience where his then-girlfriend questioned his role in the group, stating that he was doing more work than the other.

“When we were doing music at the time, I remember my ex-girlfriend asked me why I was the only one doing the heavy work, because she noticed I was the one who used to bring the investors. She was like why was I doing all the work while Ahkan enjoys?” he disclosed.

According to him, such comments can gradually influence one’s mindset and affect group dynamics.

“This would get into your mind since we were together, then you start misbehaving,” he stated.

Bullet further noted that maintaining unity within a group is extremely challenging and that many artistes have come to realise this over time.

“Maintaining a group is hard and I think people have now realized it. It’s also very hard for a group to hit after they’ve separated. That’s why many have decided not to be part of any group; they would prefer to be a solo artiste,” he added.
