Undefeated cruiserweight Robin Safar 19-0, 13 KOs came out to make a statement against fellow undefeated Derick Miller (18-1, 10 KOs) and that he did as he scored a unanimous decision in convincing fashion to win the WBA Continental Americas cruiserweight belt.

The first round was a feeling out round for both fighters, but in round two Safar landed huge shots to end round two,. However, he also landed a headbutt on Miller, as referee Laurence Cole immediately deducted a point between rounds. In round three, Safar was the aggressor as Miller countered before a big right hand by Safar wobbled Miller at the end of the round. Safar rocked Miller again in round four that included uppercuts. In the middle rounds, the pace slowed down after a busy few rounds. In round seven both guys went toe-to-toe but could not land the knockout blow. And in the tenth and final round, Safar and Miller went for broke to the final bell. In an entertaining scrap, Safar won going away 98-91 and 98-90 twice.
