The Central Region has officially launched the inaugural edition of the U15 Girls Colts League, signaling a major boost for youth football development among girls.

The competition, introduced by the Ghana Football Association (GFA), is part of the broader Women’s Football Strategy aimed at identifying and nurturing young female talents nationwide.

Eight clubs are participating in the historic first edition, including Windy Professionals Ladies FC, Kesewa Ladies, Mfantseman Royal Ladies, Ali Royals, Socrates Maidens, Mahuja Ladies, Kiismart Royal Ladies, and Sea Lions FC. The Central Regional Football Association provided jerseys and footballs to all teams to ensure a smooth start and create a supportive environment for skill development.

Officials from the GFA and the regional association emphasized that the league is designed to strengthen the grassroots structure of women’s football in Ghana. By providing young girls with a structured, competitive platform, the initiative aims to expand opportunities for female footballers while laying a solid foundation for the future growth of women’s football across the country.
