President John Dramani Mahama is currently trending on social media with the hashtag #AbanPapaAba, which signifies that a good government has come, following the Black Stars‘ resounding victory over Chad in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier.

The president is also trending with a different hashtag, #BringBackTheLove, a slogan meant to rally support for the national team.

Many social media users are excited about the team’s performance in their commanding 5-0 victory on March 21, 2025.

The president himself joined netizens in praising the Black Stars after their win, stating, “I had a good appetite for dinner after the Black Stars’ 5-0 victory. Congrats, guys! Let this victory not make us complacent. This should be the beginning of bringing back the LOVE. Next focus: Madagascar.

“Reset here. Reset there. Reset everywhere. Otto Addo’s boys are on fire, they all gave a good account of themselves. It was a five-star performance NDC 5:0 NPP(Chad),” a user said.

Other users also expressed their feelings, “Mahama gave them hope, and he delivered. #AbanPapaAba”

“Finally… there’s excitement and positivity everywhere, even with our football. #AbanPapaAba.”

“JM, shake you p3! You must score!”

On March 21, 2025, the Black Stars of Ghana delivered a dominant performance, crushing Chad 5-0 in a crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The emphatic win keeps Ghana’s qualification hopes alive, especially after Madagascar and Mali’s recent victories intensified the pressure on Otto Addo’s squad.

Antoine Semenyo set the tone early, scoring just two minutes into the game with a clinical finish.

Ghana continued their attacking dominance, doubling their lead in the 31st minute through Iñaki Williams.

Jordan Ayew extended the advantage five minutes later, capitalizing on a defensive mistake to put Ghana 3-0 ahead by halftime.

The Black Stars maintained their relentless momentum in the second half.

Mohammed Salisu added a fourth goal in the 56th minute and Ernest Nuamah then sealed the victory in the 68th minute, calmly slotting home the final goal of the night.
