John Dramani Mahama, the incoming president, has reiterated his commitment to building a Ghana based on justice, accountability, and freedom.

Mr. Mahama thanked Ghanaians for entrusting him with the president and the position of commander-in-chief of the Ghana Armed Forces in his Christmas message on December 25, 2024.

“I want to thank you, the good people of Ghana, for giving me the honor to serve you as we commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ and consider the values He embodied,” he said.

Mr. Mahama reassured the country that he would continue to guide Ghana towards progress and inclusivity, characterising the holiday season as a time of optimism and regeneration.

He wished everyone in Ghana a happy holiday season and underlined the value of cooperation, thankfulness, and group commitment to creating a better future.

In January 2025, the president-elect will formally take office.
