H.E. John Dramani Mahama has received the warmest congratulations from the Mobile Money Agents Association of Ghana (MMAAG) on his election as the Republic of Ghana’s president.

The Association praised the President-elect for his tenacity, resolve, and the all-encompassing policies he presented during his campaign, which they think have won him the confidence of the Ghanaian people, in a statement signed by Mr. Evans Otumfuo, General Secretary of MMAAG.

“We are confident that under your able stewardship, Ghana will continue to make strides toward greater growth, equality, and inclusivity,” said MMAAG, expressing confidence in Mr. Mahama’s leadership.

The Association also emphasized the importance of digital financial services in fostering financial inclusion and economic growth, and praised the President-elect’s dedication to national development.

They promised that they were prepared to work with his government to increase the availability of mobile money services in Ghana.

Removing the Electronic Transfer Levy (E-Levy), which they characterized as a hardship on both consumers and companies, was one of MMAAG’s main demands.

The statement underlined, “We have faith in you and cannot wait for your administration to repeal the E-Levy, which has disrupted our operations and placed an extra burden on our customers.”

According to MMAAG, eliminating the E-Levy will promote economic growth, increase digital financial inclusion, and ensure the long-term viability of mobile money enterprises.

In closing, the Association wished President-elect John Dramani Mahama a prosperous term in office and reaffirmed its dedication to collaborating with his government to accomplish shared objectives for Ghana’s development.
