SAP’s School, in Greda estate, Teshie recently climaxed 50 years of its existence with a grand durbar which took place on 6th December 2025 at the school compound.

The durbar brought together learners, staff, former staff, alumni, parents, key stakeholders of the school and some invited guests.

Rev Dr Nii Longdon Sowah, in attendance as the guest speaker for the celebration and an alumnus of SAP’s school encouraged the school to position itself as a future-ready institution by strengthening foundational learning and embracing digital literacy in line with global educational demands.

Addressing the school community, Rev. Dr. Sowah said the milestone represented “not just 50 years on a calendar, but 50 years of shaping minds, building character and opening doors of opportunity.”

He noted that SAP’s School must evolve to meet emerging expectations, adding that “we cannot be content with being a good school by yesterday’s standards; we must become a future-ready school by tomorrow’s”.

He added that digital literacy must become “non-negotiable,” urging the school to move beyond theoretical ICT teaching to practical, hands-on exposure.

During the durbar, Kizito Ballans, on behalf of Nana Oye Bampoe Addo, Deputy Chief of Staff delivered a message to the school and congratulated them for 50 years of educational formation.

In her message, Nana Oye Bampoe Addo highlighted the government’s commitment to strengthening and modernising Ghana’s education sector.

She noted, “Under the leadership of President John Dramani Mahama, major reforms are underway, from infrastructure improvement and curriculum enhancement to teacher development, digital learning and expanded opportunities for vulnerable groups, including girls and persons with disabilities.

Nana Oye Bampoe commended the school for its impact to the nation, noting that “SAP’s School represents the very spirit of that vision, an institution built on discipline, creativity and opportunity.”

Additionally, in a goodwill message from Pastor Charles Sapara-Grant, Chairman of the Board of Directors of SAP’s School, he commended the institution for sustaining its legacy of excellence as the school marked its 50th anniversary.

He described SAP’s School’s achievement as “a beacon of hope, shaping minds and hearts, and fostering leaders who make a difference.”

He noted, “To our pioneers, alumni, staff, and supporters, I express gratitude for your dedication and commitment”.

The Chairman also urged all stakeholders to continue supporting the school’s mission of nurturing disciplined, value-driven learners prepared for the future.

He stated, “As we look back, we also look forward, inspired to continue striving for excellence and making a lasting impact”.

Founded in 1975 by Emma Nana Asobu Sapara-Grant, SAP’s school is known for its excellence in both academia and other aspects of learner growth.

Prior to the climax of its 50th anniversary celebration, there were series of activities including a health walk, awards ceremony, sporting activities and games which prepared learners and staff for the grand durbar.
