    Midway through the one-week funeral observation of popular actress Mercy Little Smith, the MC announced that president-elect John Dramani Mahama has donated GH¢5,000 to support the funeral.

    He disclosed this while mentioning the list of persons who also made donations.

    “Our father John Dramani Mahama has donated GH¢5,000, together with drinks and water. Who has done this before? If I want to mention the number of actors and actresses this man has helped, I will lose count. I know what I am saying and I have facts and figures,” the MC said.

    The MC also mentioned that at the time the actress was battling ill health, John Mahama supported her all through.

    “When this woman was sick, John Mahama supported her all through with a huge amount of money but because death is not predictable, she could not make it. we want to tell our father Mahama that God bless him,” he said.

    John Mahama’s donation announcement was met with cheers and excitement from sympathisers gathered at the event.

    Meanwhile, scores of actors and actresses including the likes of Koo Fori, Kwame Dzokoto, Martha Ankomah, and many others thronged the residence of the late Mercy Little Smith, to commiserate with the family.

    The death of Mercy Little Smith, known for her iconic role as ‘Benyiwaa’ in the iconic Efiewura series was announced on December 18, 2024.

    Her role in Efiewura resonated deeply with viewers, earning her a special place in the hearts of Ghanaians.

    While the official cause of Little’s death has not yet been confirmed, tributes have since poured in from fans and colleagues alike.
