President John Dramani Mahama has expressed deep concerns over the handling of the Agenda 111 hospital project, revealing that nearly $400 million has been spent without delivering a single operational facility.

Speaking during his first State of the Nation Address (SONA) in his second term on Tuesday, Mahama criticized the previous administration for what he described as poor management of resources, highlighting that none of the hospitals promised under the initiative are fully functional.

“It is worth disclosing that USD 400 million has already been disbursed under the Agenda 111 project,” he stated. “Yet, not a single hospital under this major initiative is serving the people of Ghana.”

Agenda 111 was launched to expand healthcare infrastructure by constructing hospitals across the country. However, Mahama argued that if resources had been managed efficiently, the amount spent so far could have completed and operationalized at least 22 hospitals.

His remarks add to growing concerns about the transparency and execution of the project, which was touted as a major step toward improving Ghana’s healthcare system. Many Ghanaians are now demanding accountability for the funds allocated and a clear roadmap to ensure the completion of the much-needed hospitals.
