President John Dramani Mahama has appointed former Kumasi Mayor, Kojo Bonsu, and veteran actress Kalsoume Sinare, ambassadors.
The appointments are however subject to parliamentary approval.
According to a letter from the Office of the President dated June 10, 2025, and signed by Secretary to the President, Callistus Mahama, PhD, these nominations were made after consultations with the Council of State, in accordance with Article 74 of the 1992 Constitution.
Kalsoume Sinare, a well-known actress and former model from Ghana, has been nominated to serve as ambassador to the Kingdom of Spain.
Whereas Kojo Bonsu, a Ghanaian businessman, sports administrator, and politician, who served as the Metropolitan Chief Executive of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly from 2013 to 2016 has been nominated as Ambassador to China.
Both are known members of the National Democratic Congress who campaigned strongly for the party during the 2024 electioneering campaign.
