    Outgoing Second Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Elsie Addo Awadzi Outgoing Second Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Elsie Addo Awadzi

    President John Dramani Mahama has accepted the early retirement decision of the Second Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Elsie Addo Awadzi.

    In a statement signed by Minister for Government Communications and Presidential Spokesperson, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, her retirement is set to take effect from February 28, 2025.

    The president expressed his appreciation for Awadzi’s years of dedicated service to the central bank and the country.

    “President John Dramani Mahama has accepted the decision of Mrs. Elsie Addo Awadzi to take early retirement from the Bank with effect from 28th February 2025.

    “The president thanks Elsie Addo Awadzi for her distinguished service to the Bank and the Republic and wishes her well in her future endeavours,” the statement said.

    Meanwhile, President Mahama has nominated Dr. Johnson Asiamah as the Governor of the Bank of Ghana, pending approval by the Council of State.
