Hundreds of visitors and staff at Sydney‘s Luna Park have been evacuated after a mysterious ‘threat’ was received by the theme park.

A police operation at the iconic Sydney landmark in Milson’s Point ended about 5pm on Saturday, after dozens of people were seen exiting the park.

‘There was a threat received but there was nothing to suggest it was legitimate,’ a NSW Police spokeswoman told Daily Mail.

Police said an operation had concluded without incident.

‘The area was evacuated as a precaution; however, all people have now returned,’ a spokesperson said in a statement.

‘There is no threat to the community.’

    More to come.
