The siblings of the late Highlife legend Daddy Lumba are reportedly preparing to take legal action over what they describe as a lack of transparency surrounding the musician’s burial arrangements, according to their representative, Nana Kwasi Sarfo.

Nana Kwasi Sarfo, speaking on behalf of the musician’s sisters, Ernestina and Faustina Fosuh, stated that the family members are unhappy that key decisions regarding the funeral were made without their involvement.

He revealed that some of the siblings, including those living abroad, only learned about the announced burial date through social media rather than being officially informed by the family head.

In an interview with blogger Zionfelix, Nana Kwasi Sarfo explained that the siblings feel disrespected and sidelined in the process, and added that they intend to take legal steps to address the matter.

“What I know is that the siblings also found out about the burial date on social media, and they’re not happy about it. Their letter is also on the way to court. Akosua Serwaa’s court document isn’t about stopping Lumba’s funeral, but imagine how it would feel to lose a sibling and only hear about the burial date online,” he stated.

Nana Kwasi Sarfo, who represents the late musician’s sisters on the funeral committee, further alleged that the family head, Abusuapanin Kofi Owusu, has not been truthful about certain matters concerning Lumba’s supposed marriage to his partner, Priscilla Ofori Atta, popularly known as Odo Broni.

He claimed that contrary to public belief, the late musician was never married to Odo Broni but only had children with her.

According to Sarfo, he had a conversation with the family head some weeks ago, during which the Abusuapanin admitted that Odo Broni herself denied ever being married to Lumba.

“I was conversing with Wofa Owusu at his place, so if he lied, then I am lying. Abusuapanin Kofi Wusu told me that he had asked Odo Broni whether Lumba married her or not, and she said he did not perform any rites for her hand in marriage. How come he is now telling us that he has done investigations and chosen Odo Broni to perform the widowhood rites when he told me Odo Broni had confirmed that Lumba did not marry her?” he questioned.
