The founder of Anointed Palace Chapel, Rev Obofour, has shared his thoughts on the ongoing controversies surrounding the demise of Ghanaian Highlife legend Charles Kwadwo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba.
In a video shared on Instagram by Zionfelix on December 1, 2025, Rev Obofour stated that the issues surrounding the funeral of the late Daddy Lumba are being caused to certain individuals who are part of the funeral committee.
He claimed that some “mentally ill” individuals are part of the committee and therefore urged the family head, Kofi Owusu, to remove them from the board.
Akosua Serwaa speaks out following court verdict in Daddy Lumba widowhood case
“Lumba has been famous since the days of cassette tapes up until the social media era. This should tell you he is a legend… Abusuapanyin, stand by your words and don’t let any mad person disturb you, and bury your deceased in peace. God should also bless the judge who gave the ruling… This is what happens when you include a mad person in a funeral committee,” he said.
Rev Obofour also praised the judge who presided over the case, adding that, she did a good job.
He further noted that the late musician’s decision to settle with two wives before his passing is not new and, therefore, Ghanaians should stop the unwarranted criticism.
“It’s not easy for Odo Broni to give birth to six children. She has done well. The two spouses should stay strong in their time of grief. It’s not big news for Lumba to get married to two wives before his demise; even Muslims marry more than three… So, the legal wife and the so-called non-legal wife should stay together and bury their late husband,” he added.

Rev Obofour also recalled how the late Daddy Lumba advised him during a period of intense social media backlash.
“He called me some time ago when people were criticising me over something I had said. What he told me was not to respond to anyone. He even used himself as an example, saying that although there were a lot of controversies about him, he never responded to any. Ever since, that advice has stayed with me. So when I heard of his death, I was pained,” he stated.
