A football fan has pulled off the bet of their life after banking £16,123.48 from just a £1 stake on a 19-leg accumulator.
The extraordinary win saw Sky Bet pay out the massive sum to a lucky customer, who has asked to remain anonymous.
The punter kept it simple and opted to go for more than 2.5 goals in each of the 19 matches he selected for the monster accumulator.
A total of eight of the games reached the minimum three goal mark to just about count in their favour.
For a long time it looked as though the Brentford vs Burnley game would be the one to come up short.
The score was 0-0 until the 81st minute and the punter must still have felt their chance at the big win had gone.
Igor Thiago’s 86th minute goal for Brentford against Burnley to put them 2-1 up was the latest one needed in the 19-game accumulator
Christian Kofane scored an 83rd minute goal that was also needed for the bet to come in
But then after an Igor Thiago goal had broken the deadlock, Zian Flemming scored a penalty in the 85th minute.
Just a minute later Thiago bagged his second to seal the deal in the 86th minute, much to the relief of both Brentford fans and the bettor.
An 83rd minute goal for Bayer Leverkusen in their 2-1 defeat by Borussia Dortmund was another late score to keep the accumulator alive.
The accumulator spanned six different leagues and went from the English top flight to some National League games, with a couple of Bundesliga fixtures the only ones selected from abroad.
Middlesbrough were another side to make the punter sweat, bagging the third goal of their game against Derby in the 84th minute of their 2-1 Championship victory.
Some of the matches were packed full of goals and easily made it over the 2.5 threshold needed.
There were six goals in the National League clash between York City and Aldershot, while Huddersfield’s 3-3 draw with Wimbledon was a thriller in League One to make the accumulator.
While most of the league matches will soon fade quickly from memory, even for fans of the teams involved, the lucky £16k winner will never forget them and no doubt have another dabble next weekend!
