The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport Ghana (CILT) is set to hold its annual conference from the 22nd–24th of October, 2024, at the Wesley Towers in Accra.

The conference, themed “Logistics and Transport Operations in the Green and Circular Economy,” will focus on how to meet the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. It will provide an opportunity for professionals and stakeholders in the logistics, transport, and supply chain sectors to discuss pre-logistics operations and the circular economy.

Speaking ahead of the conference, the President of CILT Ghana, Engr. Mark Amoamah, FCILT, stressed that the conference is a turning point that will help develop strategies to drive the future of the logistics and transport industry on the continent.

“In developing a comprehensive circular economy, action plans, and implementation strategies for the entire continent, the African Union carried out a status analysis of the circular economy initiative across African regions, prioritizing seven main sectors, which of course included transport, mobility, and industry,” he stated. “Our carefully selected speakers are astute, practical, and solution-focused. I would entreat all stakeholders and professionals in the logistics and transport industry to join us for this transformative event.”

The conference is expected to be graced by the Minister of Transport, Kwaku Ofori Asiamah, and CILT International President Chief Teete OWUSU-NORTEY FCILT, among other dignitaries.

CILT Ghana was established in 1965 as a branch of the Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport, International, and it has since grown to become a leading professional body in Ghana’s logistics and transport sector.

It is a professional organization that aims to promote and develop the supply chain, logistics, and transport industries in Ghana.
