This could perhaps go down as one of the biggest upsets of the fortnight, with world No 12, Stefanos Tsitsipas making a shock early exit from the Australian Open earlier this afternoon.

The 2023 Australian Open finalist suffered a huge loss by US star Alex Michelsen, who bested his Greek opponent 5-7 3-6 6-2 4-6.

Michelsen, who is ranked 42nd on the ATP Tour seized one of the biggest wins in his career with 20-year-old youngster, barring the third set, dominating Tsitsipas at the John Cain Arena.

The result means that the Greek star has failed to reach the second round of his last two Grand Slam appearances, with the 2019 ATP Tour Finals winner suffering defeat by Thanasi Kokkinakis at Flushing Meadows last September.
