Kumawood actor, Kwadwo Nkansah, well-known as Lilwin, has said he leaned on Daddy Lumba’s classic hit “Yentie Obiaa” to withstand damaging accusations that he used money rituals to fuel his career.

Speaking in an interview with Graphic Showbiz, Lilwin revealed that the song’s message of persistence and focus kept him grounded during one of the most difficult chapters of his career. The controversy erupted earlier this year, just before the premiere of his film “Ibrahim Traore”.

The storm began when gospel singer Diana Asamoah publicly attacked Lilwin’s spiritual mentor, Prophet Adom Kyei-Duah, branding him a “fake man of God.” Lilwin hit back, insulting Asamoah and even questioning her gender. In retaliation, she accused him of performing human sacrifices to promote his movies.

“The accusations hurt me very much, but they made me stronger because anytime I listened to Daddy Lumba’s ‘Yentie Obiaa’, I was motivated to remain focused. I went on with the premiere and it was successful,” Lilwin said.

Despite the heated exchanges and online trolling, the actor’s premiere went ahead smoothly.

Among the notable attendees were the Ambassador of Burkina Faso to Ghana, H.E. David Kabre, accompanied by his military delegation, the Ashanti Regional Minister Dr. Frank Amoakohene, several industry colleagues including Vivian Jill, Dr. Likee, Kyekyeku, and musician Kweku Flick, as well as prominent business figures.
