Kumawood actor Kwadwo Nkansah, popularly known as Lilwin, has successfully reached an out-of-court settlement with actress Martha Ankomah, bringing an end to the GH₵5 million defamation lawsuit filed against him.

The agreement was finalized on Tuesday, February 25, after both parties initially struggled to find common ground. As part of the resolution, their legal teams are set to file the settlement terms and appear before the court on April 1, 2025, where Justice Forson Baah Agyepong will formalize the agreement as a consent judgment.

During the hearing, an earlier proposal from Lilwin’s legal team to pay GH₵150,000—comprising GH₵100,000 in compensation and GH₵50,000 in legal fees—was dismissed by Ankomah’s lawyers, who described it as inadequate. The plaintiff’s counsel reminded the court that they had already reduced their original GH₵5 million demand to GH₵2 million but found the defendant’s counteroffer unacceptable.

Following a series of exchanges in court, Lilwin, through his lawyer, later increased the offer to GH₵200,000, inclusive of legal fees. After nearly two hours of closed-door negotiations, both parties agreed to settle the matter.

While the final amount agreed upon remains undisclosed, the settlement includes a public retraction and a formal apology to Martha Ankomah. The court is expected to formally adopt the terms on April 1, 2025.
