Jeremie Frimpong will become Arne Slot‘s first signing of the summer once Liverpool activate his £29.5million clause.
The Bayer Leverkusen right wing-back has made it clear he wants to join Liverpool and link up with his Netherlands international teammates Ryan Gravenberch, Virgil van Dijk and Cody Gakpo.
He has agreed a five-year contract and is set for a medical over the coming days.
Slot knows Frimpong well and Liverpool have been preparing to meet his clause for some time with Trent Alexander-Arnold heading for Real Madrid.
Liverpool, who have handed a new contract to right-back Conor Bradley tying him to the club until 2029, remain keen Bournemouth left back Milos Kerkez and a centre back after missing out on his club mate Dean Huijsen who is joining Real Madrid for £50million.
Liverpool also want to add a centre forward with Darwin Nunez expected to leave.

Frimpong, 23, enjoyed a standout campaign under Xabi Alonso as Bayer Leverkusen won the Bundesliga title for the first time in their history last season.
He contributed nine goals and seven assists in 31 league appearances as Leverkusen completed an unbeaten domestic campaign.
Although they were unable to retain their title this season, Frimpong has still chipped in with five goals and five assists in the league.
A product of the Manchester City academy, Frimpong moved to Celtic in 2019, where he quickly became a fan favourite and won a domestic treble in his first season.
He joined Leverkusen in January 2021 and has since developed into one of Europe’s most dynamic right-sided defenders.
Internationally, Frimpong has earned 12 senior caps for the Netherlands to date.
