    Gordon Yeboah Opoku, Director of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), has stressed the need to invest in the future of Ghana’s youth.

    Speaking at a seminar held on September 23, 2025, in collaboration with UNFPA in Sekyere Central District, Ashanti Region, he highlighted the importance of promoting gender equality and adolescent empowerment.

    Opoku urged parents not to withhold vital information from their children, warning that lack of guidance could push them to seek answers from unreliable sources like social media and artificial intelligence.

    Dr Imurah Mohammed, Director of Programs at NCCE, emphasized the role of parents in preventing teenage pregnancies and protecting their children.

    Health facilitators Davis Kyei Danso and Aboagye shared practical strategies for youth empowerment, including setting boundaries, involving adolescents in decision-making, and connecting them with community support systems.

    CID Favour Adukpo, representing the Ghana Police Service, called on parents to educate their children about rape and defilement and to report any incidents without delay.
