Kelvyn Boy has reacted to relentless judgment over his private choices, urging critics to ease up on the constant commentary surrounding his lifestyle.

Speaking in an interview with Nana Romeo, the ‘Yawa No Dey’ singer responded directly to the uproar that erupts online whenever videos of him smoking make the rounds. He questioned why such moments quickly become grounds for public outrage.

According to the artiste, many creatives wrestle with pressures and personal battles that outsiders rarely see. For him, smoking is tied to coping with those unseen struggles, not an attempt to court controversy.

“When we smoke the other one, you people complain. Cigarettes, too, you complain. You don’t know what we are going through. If you did, you would smoke as well.

“Let me live my life. You haven’t seen me involved in any robbery or anything bad, so leave me alone,” he said.

Kelvyn Boy also drew comparisons with how foreign acts are treated. He argued that Nigerian musicians often feature similar habits in their visuals without triggering the same backlash locally.

“Nigerians come here and do whatever they want. These same things appear in their videos, and nobody talks. But when we do the same thing, Ghanaians complain.

“They should leave us alone because we can’t face this life being sober,” he stated.
