Leicester City have reportedly rejected a 32 million Euros bid from Sunderland for Ghana international winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, according to transfer insider Edu17Burgos.

The Black Cats, who are pushing ambitiously to strengthen their squad since their return to the Premier League, identified Fatawu as a marquee signing to bolster their attacking options.

However, Leicester remain determined to keeping hold of the 21-year-old, who has emerged as one of their most valuable assets despite the club’s relegation to the Championship last season.

Fatawu has been a standout performer since joining Leicester permanently from Sporting Lisbon in 2023.

He has already clocked up 57 appearances across all competitions, scoring seven goals and contributing with his direct dribbling, pace, and eye for goal.

His development at Leicester has also been mirrored on the international stage, where he has earned 24 caps for Ghana, further underlining his rising profile in world football.

Sunderland’s interest reflects their growing ambition to compete at the top level, but it also highlights the increasing demand for Fatawu’s services across Europe.

With Aston Villa and other Premier League clubs also monitoring his situation, Leicester face a real challenge in retaining him before the transfer window closes.

Rejecting Sunderland’s approach sends a strong message: the Foxes see Fatawu as central to their promotion push under new boss Marti Cifuentes.
