Lawyer Kusi Boateng, counsel for Akosua Serwaa Fosu, has disclosed that he has received numerous threats after filing an appeal against a ruling by the Kumasi High Court.
It may be recalled that on November 28, 2025, His Ladyship Justice Dorinda Smith Arthur, a Kumasi High Court judge, ruled that two women, Priscilla Ofori (Odo Broni) and Akosua Serwaa Fosu, must both be recognised as the late Daddy Lumba’s surviving wives.
The judge confirmed that both women were customarily married to the late musician prior to his passing.
Akosua Serwaa not the only surviving wife of Daddy Lumba – Court rules
The court, however, dismissed a purported German marriage certificate submitted by Akosua Serwaa, which was intended to prove a civil marriage.
Following the ruling, Akosua Serwaa, through her lawyers, filed an appeal challenging the decision on December 1, 2025.
In a recent media interaction, Lawyer Kusi Boateng, counsel for Akosua Serwaa, revealed that he has received several threats since filing the appeal.
According to him, even his wife was threatened, which put pressure on him to withdraw the appeal from the Kumasi High Court.
“After filing the appeal, I have received several threats. Even my wife was threatened, and because of that, she even pressured me to drop the appeal.
“Despite the threats, I realised we have a very strong case. Why else would someone attempt to intimidate me to stop pursuing it? We are standing for justice, and we will get it,” he said.

Lawyer Kusi Boateng further accused Justice Dorinda Smith Arthur of deliberately ignoring Akosua Serwaa’s German wedding certificate in court.
“What the judge did was a deliberate attempt… She had a biased mindset. Claiming that I had forged documents was an insult to my integrity, especially since the other side was aware that the documents were genuine.
“Even during the proceedings, the judge noted that if there was evidence indicating she had a valid German ordinance marriage, it would have meant Daddy Lumba could not have married a second wife,” he added.
