Ghanaian goalkeeper Lawrence Ati-Zigi has been voted FC St. Gallen Player of the Month for April following his outstanding performances for the Swiss side.
The club confirmed the award in a post on Facebook, praising the Ghanaian goalkeeper after he emerged winner ahead of teammates Lukas Görtler and Hugo Vandermersch.
“You voted! Mettler presents the key player of the month of April. With his performance, Lawrence Ati Zig was able to prevail in the voting against Lukas Görtler and Hugo Vandermersch. Congratulations, Zigi!” the club posted.
Ati-Zigi played a crucial role in helping the Espen record two victories and a draw during the month, producing several important saves across the three matches.
One of his standout displays came against Swiss giants BSC Young Boys away from home, where he delivered a man-of-the-match performance and earned an impressive 9.7 rating.
The 29-year-old has now kept seven clean sheets in 34 Swiss Super League appearances this season while also saving three penalties.
His impressive form is expected to strengthen his chances of making Ghana’s final squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
