It started with a simple idea: bring together Ghana’s most forward-thinking companies, pair them with a campus shaping tomorrow’s leaders, and see what’s possible. On 20th June, Lancaster University Ghana (LUG) turned that idea into a powerful reality with its annual Brunch with Corporate.

Over 40 leading organizations joined the event to engage in open conversations, share ideas, and explore what it truly means to prepare graduates for the world ahead. This year’s theme, “The Future of Talent and Innovation: Bridging Academia and Industry for Sustainable Growth,” framed the gathering, but it was the people in the room who brought it to life.

The morning opened with real-world reflections from Susan Biney, Student Affairs Manager, who shared internship stories that spoke to growth, transformation, and the value of experience. But it was the keynote voices that anchored the day.

Dr. (Mrs.) Stella Agyenim-Boateng, Vice Chairperson of the Public Services Commission, challenged the room to think differently. “The world of work is evolving fast. Degrees alone won’t cut it. We need agile minds, adaptable skills, and a hunger to grow,” she said.

Adding a tech-forward lens, Nana Darko Asiedu, Country Manager of ALX Ghana, explored how EdTech is redefining employability. “We’re not just training students to pass. We’re preparing them to lead in a digital-first world,” he noted.

From there, conversations deepened, connections were made, and visions for collaboration began to form, all guided by Prof. Cynthia Forson, Deputy Provost, who moderated the exchange with clarity and focus.

The event closed with remarks from Dr. Emmanuel Arthur, Acting CEO and Provost, who introduced The Lancaster Advantage, the institution’s bold approach to industry-aligned, globally focused learning.

Then came the tour. Guests explored LUG’s Emerging Technologies Centre, where AI robots and virtual reality tools are part of everyday learning, and discovered the spaces, including the university library, where research, ideas, and innovation collide.

“I was truly warmed by the event and can’t wait for the next one,” said Nana Darko Asiedu.

For Lancaster University Ghana, Brunch with Corporate is more than an annual tradition. It’s a promise that we’ll keep showing up, listening, and building the bridge between today’s classroom and tomorrow’s world.
