    A Nigerian lady has taken to X (Twitter) to share how she was able to secure her father’s properties way after his family members after his passing.

    In her tweets, she revealed that she had gone to her father’s office to pack some of his important documents hours after he was announced dead.

    According to her, her mother was trying to move her father’s body from Abuja and she had to do everything in her power to secure her late father’s properties before his family’s arrival.

    She went on to add that, 2 days after she had gone over to her father’s office to pick up his important documents it had been ransacked.

    Her tweets read;

    “When my Dad died, I snuck into his office and carried as many documents as possible, cleaned the office, and locked it. Two days after that, I went back to the office and it was visibly ransacked My Mum was in Abj, struggling to bring his body back home and I had to pretend all was well while packing documents. Mind you, I had to make it look like I was taking trash out of the office.”

    Below are some of the reactions;

    “This whole discussion is really given me scary ideas. Especially the kind of family my dad has, seems I have to be smarter incase anything happens.”

    “May i ask? I’m not Nigerian but have been following this chat. Does the system in Nigeria not consider the immediate family first when determining inheritance, or who ever has the documents is the heir?“

    “This is sad to hear, our justice system needs to do better”
