    A young Nigerian woman has taken to social media to share her experience after mistakenly transferring money to the wrong account.

    Sharing in a tweet on X, she disclosed that the person who received the money demanded a share before agreeing to return it.

    According to her tweets, the lady only agreed to send the money back on Tuesday, after holding onto it for three days.

    Her tweets read;

    “I sent 55,200 to a wrong account ( OPay). I haven’t met her before. I called her line, she said how much do I want to give her from there. Nigerians! What she did was bad It’s not a normal character I sha gave her 5200. And the money has been with her since Saturday btw I was able to collect it back on Tuesday I think.“

    Several internet users who saw the post remarked that this is fast becoming a trend in society while also sharing their own similar experiences.

    Below are some of the comments;

    “Mine was 120k. A delivery guy. Homeboy couldn’t access the money because he had issues with his Opay line. So, he kept communicating with me and asked that I support him with TP to go sort it out. I sent 10k to him. He was able to go and solve the issue, then stopped responding.”

    “The last time someone mistakenly sent money to a wrong account instead of mine, we called the person, and the woman’s husband was talking underneath that we should forget about the money because it was a miraculous one.”

    “That’s how I sent 106,500 to a wrong Opay account last two years December, I almost ran mad. Till date the lady never returned my money and I begged her like my life depended on it, yet she never sent it back.”
