Lady Outr@ged After Bolt Driver Demands Extra Fare and Grabs Cútlass After She Declines

A woman has taken to social media to share her alarming experience with a Bolt driver who allegedly demanded extra money for fuel and pickup.

After she declined to pay the additional fare, the driver reportedly became aggressive and reached for a cutlass from his vehicle.

The incident occurred when the woman ordered a ride and was surprised when the driver asked for more money upon arrival.

She canceled the ride in response. To her shock, the driver then grabbed a cutlass, claiming it was for “self-defense.”

Startled and feeling threatened, she quickly contacted a police officer she knew. This action prompted the driver to flee the scene.

In her post on X (formerly Twitter), she recounted the frightening encounter:

“I ordered a Bolt. The driver arrived and demanded extra for fuel and pickup. I refused and canceled the ride. Suddenly, he grabbed a cutlass from his trunk.
I asked, ‘What’s that for?’ He replied, ‘Self-defense.’ Against what? My refusal? I called a police friend; oga drove off. Sai.”

As her story spread online, many users expressed their outrage and concern in the comments.

    See some reactions below:
