Kyle Sandilands‘ country estate, which remains unsold despite a significant price cut, has hit another hurdle after the luxury builders who renovated it launched civil proceedings against the former radio host.
Alter Build Co Pty Ltd, a boutique construction company based in Sydney, filed a civil Statement of Claim against Sandilands in the NSW District Court.
Court records indicate the filing relates to the sale of goods and services which appears to be connected to renovation works carried out at the Glenorie property.
Located on a 9,580sqm block in Sydney’s semi-rural north-west, Kingsview Estate is a six-bedroom, five-bathroom property that Sandilands purchased for $3million in 2022.
At the time, the incumbent king of FM radio was just weeks away from welcoming his first child, Otto, with wife Tegan Kynaston.
The following year, he and then on-air co-host Jackie ‘O’ Henderson signed a reported 10-year, $200million contract with KIIS FM.
However, the arrangement ended in March when Sandilands was suspended by parent company ARN and terminated following remarks he made about Henderson.
In June, Sandilands settled Federal Court proceedings with ARN for nearly $14million, including a cash settlement of more than $12million and advertising services valued at $1.5million.
Kyle Sandilands’ country estate remains unsold despite a price cut as builders launch civil court action linked to renovation works
Alter Build Co Pty Ltd has filed a Statement of Claim against Sandilands in the NSW District Court relating to goods and services associated with renovations at the Glenorie property
Sandilands took out a secondary $2million mortgage on the Glenorie estate through Mortgage Holdings Group, reportedly carrying interest rates of more than 17 per cent.
The elegant white house, which Sandilands proudly said was in the style of Elvis Presley’s Graceland mansion, had replaced a gutted 1970s house on the acreage site.
Last year, Alter Build Co, a two-decade-old construction company headed by Andrew Kabourakis and William Teixeira, fenced off the site to undertake the renovation projects.
The end result was a two-storey Georgian-style house with a circular driveway leading to its porte-cochère.
Sandilands initially listed the property with price expectations of $5.7million to $5.9million before later reducing the guide to $4.9 million.
The hone is believed to have remained unsold.
The Daily Mail has contacted Alter Build, and its principals Mr Kabourakis and Mr Teixeira for comment, and Sandilands for a response.
The case is listed in the Downing Centre District Court later this month.
