Barimah Pobi Asomaning III, the esteemed Chief of Kyebi Akwadum in the Eastern Region of Ghana, marked his birthday on April 1, 2025, with a heartwarming display of generosity and compassion. As part of his celebrations, he extended support to the elderly, widows, persons with disabilities (PWDs), and underprivileged members of his community. Additionally, he settled medical bills for patients at the Kibi District Hospital and made a special donation to detainees at the Kibi Police Station.

Demonstrating his commitment to social welfare, Barimah Pobi Asomaning III distributed essential food items to 150 women, predominantly elderly, each receiving a 5kg bag of long-grain rice, a crate of eggs, and a bottle of cooking oil. His benevolence further extended to the Kibi District Hospital, where he covered the medical expenses of over ten patients, amounting to several thousand Ghana Cedis.

In an act of goodwill towards the incarcerated, he proceeded to the Kibi Police Station, where he donated food supplies, packs of bottled water, assorted beverages, and a sum of GH₵1,000 to support the detainees. The generous contributions were received by the District Commander, ASP Patricia Affum Donkor, who expressed gratitude for the Chief’s thoughtful gesture.

Speaking to the press, Barimah Pobi Asomaning III emphasized the importance of sharing one’s blessings with the less fortunate. “A day like this should be celebrated with those who are underprivileged, to bring smiles to their faces and instill in them hope for a brighter future,” he remarked. He urged individuals, especially those in positions of influence, to emulate such acts of kindness, stressing that leaving a legacy of generosity is far more rewarding than living a self-centered life.

The Chief also called for unity and cohesion within the community, highlighting their critical role in driving socio-economic development. He encouraged collective efforts in fostering a culture of support and togetherness for the greater good of both the community and the nation.

Expressing his gratitude, Barimah Pobi Asomaning III extended heartfelt thanks to God, Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin—the Okyenhene—and the entire Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Council, as well as all individuals who contributed to making the occasion memorable. He reaffirmed his commitment to championing the cause of the vulnerable, urging society to prioritize the welfare of those in need.
