Kwesi Nyantakyi denies sabotaging Ghana football Kwesi Nyantakyi denies sabotaging Ghana football

A former President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kwesi Nyantakyi, has debunked claims that he is spiritually sabotaging the Black Stars.

The news emerged after a prophet named Samuel Agyarkwah, also known as Akwankyere Papa, alleged that Nyantakyi has put Ghana football under spiritual attack.

He claimed that the former GFA President does not want his successors to thrive and outperform him.

“The truth is that Ghana football is under spiritual attack, which has caused its downfall. Ghana football is being tied in the Northern Region by a popular ex-GFA President. The reason is to block his successors from shining so that he will be remembered forever,” he said on Mothers FM/TV, as quoted by Ghanasportspage.

Nyantakyi vehemently denied indulging in such a diabolic act to cause the downfall of the senior national team.

During an interview with JoySports, the former CAF first vice president rubbished the claims and urged the public to disregard them.

“The Black Stars do not belong to me; the team belong to Ghanaians. How can I engage in spiritual machinations for the team to fail? I was the President of Ghana football, not the Black Stars. In 2006, when we launched our football policy in Cape Coast, it was a comprehensive plan for the development of Ghana football as a whole.

“We consistently revised and implemented policies for governance, marketing, youth football, women’s football, player and referee development, among others. Was that about the Black Stars alone? Many of these so-called prophets seek fame by riding on the popularity of football. They peddle hogwash to capture public attention,” Nyantakyi stated.

This comes after the Black Stars failed to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco following a terrible performance in the qualifiers.

It marks the first time in 20 years the nation has not made it to the continental showpiece.
