Former Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) President, Alhaji Radji, has labeled Kwesi Nyantakyi as the best-ever Ghana Football Association (GFA) president.

Alhaji Radji supported his claim by asserting that Nyantakyi achieved the most success compared to his predecessors.

In an interview with Asempa FM, the veteran administrator added that the only blemish on Nyantakyi’s legacy was his infamous involvement in corrupt activities.

“Kwesi Nyantakyi is the best GFA president to have ever emerged from this country.

“He achieved a lot during his tenure. His only challenge was the other issues that we all know about, but for me, he remains the best-ever GFA president,” he added.

Nyantakyi served as the GFA president from 2005 to 2018 before being banned by FIFA following an investigative report that exposed his involvement in corruption.

During his 13-year tenure, he oversaw significant achievements, including Ghana’s U-20 team winning the FIFA U-20 World Cup — becoming the first and only African country to achieve the feat.

Under his leadership, the Black Stars made history at the World Cup, becoming the first African team to reach the quarter-finals, and also reached two AFCON finals.

Since his departure, the Black Stars have recorded only one victory in three AFCON tournaments, exiting at the group stage twice.

Meanwhile, the Ghana U-20 team has failed to qualify for the FIFA U-20 World Cup in the last three editions.
