Asante Kotoko striker Kwame Opoku has set his sights on a sensational comeback to the Black Stars, revealing his determination to work hard and earn a call-up to the team.

After a spell abroad, Opoku returned to the club where he first rose to prominence in December 2024. Before leaving Ghana, he made three appearances for the Black Stars, and now, he’s eager to make a comeback.

Since his return, Opoku’s performance has been outstanding, inspiring Asante Kotoko to impressive results. The Porcupine Warriors remain unbeaten in the four games since his return, securing three wins. Opoku has featured in three of those matches, scoring an impressive four goals.

In an interview with Asempa FM, the former USM Alger forward reflected on his previous experience with the Black Stars. He admitted he had more to contribute during his first stint but emphasized his readiness to give his best if called up again.

“I believe that during my first time with the Black Stars, I had more to offer, but maybe it wasn’t the right time. Now, I’ll make sure to improve my game, and if I’m called up again, I’m ready to give my best to the national team,” Opoku said.

The striker also praised the fans of Asante Kotoko for their warm reception upon his return and acknowledged the club’s superiority in Ghanaian football.

“Without a doubt, Asante Kotoko is the biggest club in Ghana. Its supporters are unmatched in size and passion—no one can rival the phenomenal fan base of the Porcupine Warriors,” he added.
