Ghanaian forward Kwadwo Baah scored for Watford in their defeat to Norwich City

Watford’s EFL Cup journey ended early as they fell 2-1 to Norwich City at Vicarage Road, despite a lively cameo from Ghanaian forward Kwadwo Baah.

The visitors started brightly, taking the lead in the 10th minute when Josh Sargent slotted home from close range. Marcelino Núñez doubled the advantage 14 minutes later with a stunning strike from distance, leaving the hosts chasing the game before half-time.

Baah entered the game in the 62nd minute, replacing Thomas Ince, and quickly became a spark for the Hornets. His persistence paid off in the 68th minute when he latched onto Imrân Louza’s pass and coolly finished with his left foot.

The 22-year-old was a constant problem for Norwich’s defence, drawing three fouls, the most by any player on the pitch.

Watford pushed hard in the closing stages but couldn’t find an equaliser, with the Canaries holding firm to advance.

The result leaves Watford with 10 wins, eight losses, and one draw in their head-to-head history with Norwich. Attention now turns to Friday’s Championship clash against QPR.
