Presidential hopeful of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, has expressed disappointment over the party’s decision to exclude former polling station executives from the electoral college.

Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen on July 29, 2025, Agyepong said the decision has sidelined many loyal party members who have contributed significantly to the NPP’s growth over the years.

“I believe we need to depart from the usual practice. If it were up to me, all former polling station executives would be allowed to vote. Unfortunately, anytime a new MP is elected, he replaces the old executives with their own people,” he decried.

He stressed that several past executives who have worked hard for the party are no longer recognised, despite their sacrifices and dedication.

“Despite the fact that I respect the party’s decision, I feel that there are some past executives who have struggled for the party, and yet they are not recognised by the party anymore,” he stated.

Agyepong, a former General Secretary of the NPP, is part of the first individuals who declared their intention to lead the party into the 2028 general elections.
