President of the Ghana Football Association, Kurt Okraku has complained about the level and standard of coaching in the country.

According to Kurt Okraku, Ghanaian football has for years been confronted with persistent concerns about the steady decline in coaching standards and that gives him a big headache.

Speaking at the CAF License A coaching course at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram, the GFA president emphasized that refereeing and coaching remain key focus areas, with urgent reforms required to improve standards.

“These two key need areas are refereeing and coaching. I have never, never, never been happy with coaching, and I have not stopped talking about this.”

“When I say coaching standards in Ghana have been poor, I really mean it,” Kurt Okraku added.

The CAF License A programme forms part of the Ghana Football Association’s broader plan to raise technical and coaching standards across Ghanaian football.
