The President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Okraku, has stepped down from his role as West African Football Union (WAFU) Zone B President.

The decision was taken following his election as the Second Vice-President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

CAF President Patrice Motsepe announced that Kurt Okraku was elected as the Second Vice-President of the body during an Executive Council meeting held in Accra on April 26, 2025.

The appointment was necessary as Motsepe seeks to restructure leadership after four of CAF’s five previous vice-presidents resigned from their roles.

Okraku intends to focus on his roles as GFA President and CAF to enable him to deliver his utmost best in discharging his duties.

During his tenure as WAFU Zone B president, he ensured the relocation of the association’s headquarters and enhanced collaboration among member countries to excel in tournaments.

Okraku expressed his appreciation to his fellow executives, the entire leadership, and member countries for giving him the opportunity to serve and cooperating to make his tenure a success.

New individuals are expected to contest for the role and fill the vacancy to continue steering the affairs of WAFU following the resignation.
