Black Stars duo Mohammed Kudus and Antoine Semenyo got their season up and running in the opening games of the campaign in the English Premier League, earning them spots in the Team of the Week.

Semenyo, the only player in the best eleven whose team lost at the weekend, delivered an incredible performance against champions Liverpool last Friday despite an episode of racial abuse. The 25-year-old netted a brace in Bournemouth’s 4-2 loss at Anfield.

Meanwhile, Kudus, who was making his Tottenham Hotspur debut, provided two assists in the 3-0 victory against Burnley at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium to make the Team of the Week.

The Ghanaian duo were joined by Arsenal’s goalkeeper David Raya while Dan Ballard (Sunderland), Dan Burn (Newcastle United) and Marc Guehi (Crystal Palace) make up the defence.

Habib Diarra of Sunderland also made the team alongside Manchester City’s summer signing Tijani Reijnders.

Chris Wood (Nottingham Forest), Erling Haaland (Manchester City) and Richarlison of Spurs complete the squad.

Sunderland manager Regis de Bris was named coach of the week.

Semenyo has also been nominated for the Player of the Week award in the Premier League.
