Kumasi Asante Kotoko run riot at the Baba Sports Stadium, yesterday, spanking Vision FC 4-1 in their match day 17 encounter of the Ghana Premier League (GPL).

Four goals in the first half killed off any attempt of a fight-back from the visitors from Tema, and the second half also saw the Porcupine Warriors keep possession to save energy.

That notwithstanding, they created uncountable chances in the second half which they wasted with first goal scorer, Kwame Opoku being the worst culprit.

Meanwhile, it was Opoku who opened the floodgates for the Reds as early as the eighth minutes with a spectacular strike.

But Vision FC fought back and went boot-for-boot with Kotoko and were successful with the equaliser in the 22nd minute when Nana Kwesi Amoah silenced the home fans.

Exactly 10 minutes later, Kotoko got the leader again through Peter Amidu Acquah from another beautiful team play.

Opoku recorded his second of the day in the 37th minute before Saaka Dauda, who was substituted by Samson Eduku, stretched the lead to four on the stroke of half time.

Vision resumed the second half slightly on top, carrying the game to the host who appeared relaxed and stayed in shape to thwart any effort from the lads from Tema.

Guided by Coach Nana Kwaku Agyemang, the Premier League debutants made several inroads but failed to find their way past the Kotoko defence.

When Kotoko took over again, they were a delight to watch as the experienced Justice Blay dictated the pace with his crisp passes most of which cut the Vision defence open.

On two occasions when they broke the Vision FC resistance, Dauda and Poku blew chances to increase their respective tallies by wasting those chances.

Vision FC’s goalkeeper, Franklin Yamoah, also played a role in keeping the score at 4-1 as he pulled magnificent saves to deny the host.
