Ghana Premier League side Asante Kotoko have announced the acceptance of an invitation to play in the 2025 Toyota Cup.

The Porcupine Warriors will face South African side Kaizer Chiefs in this year’s event which is scheduled for July.

The game according to the club, will form part of their preparations towards next season’s CAF Confederation Cup which they qualified for after winning the MTN FA Cup.

“Asante Kotoko SC is pleased to confirm that we have accepted an invitation to play in this year’s Toyota Cup, where we will face Kaizer Chiefs of South Africa in an international friendly,” the club said in a statement they published on their website on June 26, 2025.

The game is slated for Monday, July 28, 2025, at the Moses Mabhida stadium in Durban, South Africa.

“This game is an important step in strengthening the long‑standing relationship between two of the continent’s biggest clubs, and it also forms part of our preparations for the upcoming CAF Confederation Cup against a team who will also be participating in the same competition,” the statement said.

“It will give our team valuable international experience as we build towards a strong campaign in Africa,” it added.

The 2025 Toyota Cup was officially launched on June 26, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the Kaizer Chiefs Village.

The club will play a match against Hearts of Oak in the President’s Cup before returning to South Africa.
