Ghanaian football giants Asante Kotoko have paid tribute to Steffen King Amoah, a devoted supporter and immigration officer whose tragic death has shocked the nation.

Amoah, 38, was found dead at Abuom Junction near Kwabenya in the Greater Accra Region five days after his family reported him missing.

According to reports, his body, discovered partly burnt with multiple stab wounds, has since been deposited at the Police Hospital Mortuary in Accra.

In a statement, the Porcupine Warriors mourned the loss of one of their own:

“We are deeply saddened by the tragic and untimely passing of Steffen King Amoah, a proud and devoted supporter.

His unwavering passion for the club was evident to all who knew him, and his loss is deeply felt across the Porcupine family.

He leaves behind a wife and two young children, and our thoughts and prayers are with them during this incredibly difficult time.

We trust that the security agencies will conduct a thorough investigation and ensure that justice is served. Rest peacefully, Otumfour Nana.”

Amoah, who worked with the Ghana Immigration Service since 2013, was well-known at the Service’s Sports Department.

He left behind his wife and their two young children aged four years and five months.

Meanwhile, a 36-year-old man described as a friend of Amoah has been remanded into custody by a Kwabenya Circuit Court as investigations continue into the shocking murder.
