Asante Kotoko’s head coach, Prosper Narteh Ogum, has acknowledged his team’s struggles with goal-scoring, a challenge he believes is widespread among clubs in the Ghana Premier League.

In a post-match interview following Kotoko’s victory over Gold Stars, Coach Ogum explained that the lack of natural goal scorers is a significant issue for teams across the league.

“Goal-scoring has actually been an issue in the league. If you watch closely, every team is able to create chances, but it’s about scoring. Goal-scoring is an art. Sometimes, if you have players who are natural goal scorers, it is easier, but unfortunately, we don’t have these natural goal scorers across the teams. That is why sometimes a team can play very well but still not even get a point,” Coach Ogum said.

Despite these challenges, Coach Prosper Narteh Ogum remains optimistic about his team’s prospects. He has assured fans that Asante Kotoko is committed to refining its attacking play to improve its goal-scoring ability.

Up next for Asante Kotoko, the team will take on Medeama SC on Sunday, January 5, in a Week 16 fixture of the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season.
