Asante Kotoko marched into the CAF Confederation Cup Round of 32 after recording a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Kwara United in Ilorin on Sunday, September 28, 2025, sealing a 5-3 aggregate triumph.

Following their thrilling 4-3 win in the first leg in Accra, Kotoko showed far greater defensive discipline in Nigeria, frustrating Kwara throughout a tense encounter.

The breakthrough came in the 54th minute when Hubert Gyau calmly slotted home, silencing the home crowd and giving the Porcupine Warriors a priceless away goal.

Despite waves of late pressure from the Nigerian side, Kotoko held firm at the back to preserve their clean sheet and book their place in the next round.

The Ghanaian giants will now face Moroccan heavyweights, Wydad Casablanca, in the second preliminary round, with the first leg scheduled between October 17–19, 2025, and the return fixture a week later.
