Asante Kotoko striker Kwame Poku has emphatically stated that Kotoko stand head and shoulders above all Ghanaian clubs.
The striker remarked that Kotoko undisputedly have the largest and most passionate fan base in Ghana.
“Without a doubt, Asante Kotoko is the biggest club in Ghana. Their supporters are unmatched in size and passion. No one can rival the phenomenal fan base of the Porcupine Warriors,” he told Asempa FM.
Kwame Poku rejoined Kotoko in January 2025 for a second spell with the club, having first played for them between 2020/2021 before moving to USM Alger.
He has scored four goals in the first four league games, guiding the Porcupine Warriors to third on the league table.
The forward is optimistic about earning a return to the Black Stars based on his current form for Kotoko.
He noted that he is ready to perform better than he did during his last call-up in 2022 under then-manager Charles Kwabla Akonnor.
“I believe that during my first time with the Black Stars, I had more to offer, but maybe it wasn’t the right time. Now, I’ll make sure to improve my game, and if I’m called up again, I’m ready to give my best to the national team,” Poku said.
The Black Stars will be in action in March 2025 when the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers resume.
